The National Pasta Association Announces Winners of the National 'Pasta Fits' 2011 Photo and Recipe Contest
New York, NY (December, 5th 2011) – The National Pasta Association (NPA), today announced the winners of the ‘Pasta Fits’ National photo and recipe contest. The contest, in celebration of National Pasta Month this October was a search for unique, healthy pasta recipes that fit into America’s diets, budgets and busy lifestyles. Participants were asked to submit their favorite pasta recipe with a captioned photo via Facebook that effectively displayed and described the fun, unique, and healthy ways that pasta has been incorporated into their busy lives.
With over 135 entries, the three finalists were chosen by a panel of expert judges including Pasta Fits Ambassador, Celebrity Chef Candice Kumai, nutritionist Sarah Wally Ladden, and National Pasta Association executives. Our grand prize winner awarded a cash prize of $3,000 is “Almost Asian Spinach Linguine” submitted by Nancy Brush from Newport, RI. Our second place winner receiving a cash prize of $1,500 is “Nutty Cilantro Noodles” submitted by Paige Adams from Chicago, IL. Finally, our third place winner receiving a cash prize of $500.00 is pasta recipe “Lemon-Pepper Bucatini” submitted by Veronica Callaghan from Glastonbury, CT.
